Today was my last day to soak in the waters around Hawaii. I went to my favorite beach Lanikai and regardless of the cloudy water and choppy waves, I enjoyed my last time swimming with the fish. I silently brooded on my towel while Cody texted away on his phone. During my reflection I realized life does come around full circle. Cody was the initial reason I found myself in Hawaii 5yrs ago. Although we are no longer romantically involved we were able to salvage a great friendship. Now the clock wines down as our departure from the rainbow state is coming to an end. It’s only fitting that we arrived together and we’ll depart together to spend a few weeks with our families before we go our separate ways, he to Texas and me to Germany. We both agreed that our time in Hawai’i was one of struggle, heartache, self-discovery, and growth. Mahalo nui loa!
